SEPA Direct Debit
Let's talk a little about the Single European Payment Area (SEPA). Yes, we know some would rather not, but SEPA could be very important to you if your business collects payments from overseas customers – or you would like to.
The idea behind SEPA was to create a platform where all Euro payments would be subject to the same set of standards. Everyone plays by the same set of rules. It's a rare instance where one size really does fit all.
Why are we telling you this? Well, one point is that billing customers in other countries can carry a certain amount of risk. Just imagine trying to recover a late payment from a company in Poland or Greece or any other EU member! Because Eazipay is a fully paid-up member of SEPA, we can collect Direct Debits and card payments from your customers across the EU and pay them into your account with a minimum of fuss and maximum efficiency.

Direct Debit in Europe comes under the remit of SEPA - the European Single Payments Area, which is an EU initiative designed to make cross-border cashless payments seamless.
Payments must be made and collected in euros, not Sterling, and all UK businesses collecting Euro-denominated payments are required to migrate to the SEPA Direct Debit Scheme, which is split into two parts.
SEPA Core Direct Debit is for B2C customers while SEPA B2B Direct Debit is for business to business transactions. (Note - the B2B scheme is optional, so not all banks will offer it.)
The B2B scheme gives payees no right to a refund, while B2C gives payers up to 13 months. The mandate process may also vary, with the payer having to send a copy to their bank. The mandate must be in the payer's language.
Bank details for SDD transactions are also different. Rather than the sort code and account number, businesses will require the customer’s Bank Identifier Code (BIC) and International Bank Account Numbers (IBAN).
