As far back as 2013, we said in a press release titled ‘Government is letting small to medium size businesses down’ that the Prompt Payment Code needs a complete overhaul as it clearly isn’t fit for purpose. We also said that it needs to be given real powers to be able to act effectively on behalf of SMEs.

In the same year, we issued another statement calling for the Prompt Payment Code to be scrapped.

Cambridgeshire-based Direct Debit and automated payment processing company, Eazipay Ltd, has reported a spike in the number of Care Homes looking at Direct Debit as a means of collecting their fees.

The company, which has been at the forefront of collecting and processing automated payments like Direct Debit for over 17 years, is receiving regular calls from Care Homes across the country actively considering using Direct Debit as a means of collecting fees rather than having to rely on costly invoicing and the risk of extended payment delays.
