Justify price increases or risk losing customers

January 22, 2020

It might come as a surprise to some, but despite what we’re told and led to believe, not all businesses are upfront and honest about their costs and fees, their pricing structure, or their reasons for price increases.

What shouldn’t come as a surprise is that at Eazipay, we don’t like price increases any more than the next person. We’re just not in the business of giving our customers nasty shocks by introducing sky-high price hikes.

While we don’t like them, we do accept the inevitability of them and our attitude to price rises is simple: be up front and honest. Make any adjustments the exception rather than the rule and keep them to an absolute minimum.

Imagine our surprise then when we discovered that a company performing the same role and function as us – Direct Debit and automated payment collection and processing - can easily charge up to £7.00 for collecting a Direct Debit that we would charge no more than 42p to collect for you.

No doubt about it, it’s an impressive hike in pricing, but can it be justified?

If you are collecting a Direct Debit payment for £5,000, for example, then Eazipay would charge you flat fee of 42p to collect it. If you are with ‘the other company’ they will charge you £7.00.

It’s a like-for-like process. They don’t do any more than we do, but you will pay £6.58 more than we would charge to collect the same amount in exactly the same way.

In fact, at Eazipay, we will even offer you a discount if your collection volumes are large enough.

Every customer deserves to feel confident when it comes to choosing who to work with and how much they should pay and we feel its important that you make an informed choice about the company you work with.

Talk to us now about how we can make affordable Direct Debit work hard for you.
