With the New Year a little more than half way through, one local company is already celebrating the fact that 2017 is likely to be the most successful in its decade and a half history.

Eazipay Ltd, based in Ely, Cambridgeshire, has been at the forefront of collecting and processing automated payments like Direct Debit for over 15 years. While the company has seen year-on-year growth over that period, 2017 is shaping up to be a bumper year as the company announces the appointment of five new members of staff to help it meet the demand for its automated payment processing services.

At the beginning of 2017, Eazipay relocated from Litleport to larger ‘custom built’ offices in Ely, a move largely driven by a surge in new business.

Luisa Grey, Eazipay’s Director, attributes the upward trend to the growth of new companies outsourcing their payment collection processes to save on the cost of expensive software systems, or employing extra staff to manage payment collection, as well as businesses wanting to collect payments in Euros from overseas companies.

“We exist to help smaller businesses access the same level playing field that larger companies have,” says Luisa, adding: “We make it possible for smaller companies to collect payments from their customers by Direct Debit.

“Under normal circumstances, those smaller companies would be considered too small and pose too great a financial risk to be supported by their banks to access the Direct Debit payment scheme. That’s where we come in.

“Eazipay provides the link between the SME and its bank so that smaller companies can have access to all the benefits and financial control that larger companies have by using Direct Debit as their preferred payment collection process.”

Eazipay’s newest staff members all have customer-facing roles. Dominic Miller, Eloise Bright, Lorry Spry and Jo Brennan are Direct Debit Account Controllers and Laura Woods is the company’s new sales support co-ordinator, bringing Eazipay’s number of staff to 24.

In addition to its Direct Debit collection service, Eazipay also offers a range of other automated payment processing services including Faster Payments, Direct Credit transactions, SEPA Direct Debits for payment collection in Euros, and a new card payment service allowing its clients to collect and process customer payments via debit and credit card.

A staggering £173.1 million worth of Direct Debits were processed on behalf of its clients during the first four months of 2017, signalling the company’s best ever opening period.
