Best feet forward for charity fundraisers during Blood Cancer Awareness Month
September 2, 2019
Twenty-seven year old, Eloise Bright from Stretham, Ely, is preparing to take part in a 13 mile charity walk to help raise awareness of Blood Cancer.
Eloise, a Direct Debit Account Controller at Eazipay Ltd, a leading Direct Debit and automated payment processing company based in Ely, along with her boyfriend Josh and their families, are raising money for the Anthony Nolan charity by taking part in the Walking Together 2019 event as part of September’s Blood Cancer Awareness Month.
The intrepid fundraisers will put their best feet forward on 21st September as they walk a 13 mile route from Manor Farm in Stretham to the centre of Cambridge. While no time limit has been set, the group are hoping to complete the walk in under four and a half hours.
Eloise, whose father suffers from a Myeloproliferative Neoplasm – Polycythaemia Vera -, a rare form of blood cancer, comments, “Anthony Nolan is a pioneering charity that saves the lives of people with blood cancer. Every day they match remarkable donors willing to donate their blood stem cells to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants.
“Although my Dad may never need a transplant, there are thousands of people out there who do and we’re hoping to raise awareness and much needed funds to help the charity to give more people a second chance of life by adding new donors to the register and finding more matches for people with blood cancer.”
